SYNAPSEOS SYSTEM ANTIVIRUS
!!Caution!!
NeuraX recommends not to disable or reconfigure the antivirus application or settings because it might expose SynapseOS System application to security risks.
Antivirus Scan Timing
To prevent a negative impact on performance, the system does not start scheduled scans while a study is in progress. If a study is started while a scan is in progress, the scan is automatically stopped.
Upon exit from the SynapseOS System application, the user is prompted to select the “Scan & Shut Down” exit option and exploit the pre-shutdown time for virus scan.
Connected USB storage devices are scanned only when files are being accessed. When a file with a virus that cannot be removed is detected, a message appears, notifying the user that the file cannot be accessed. The antivirus blocks access to the infected file to protect the operating system.
Antivirus Actions Taken upon Virus Detection
If the antivirus application detects a virus during a scan it automatically attempts to remove the virus and repair the infected file without prompting the user for action.
However, if the antivirus application detects a virus that it cannot remove, the SynapseOS System opening screen, when it next appears, displays a message recommending not to use the system until NeuraX Service and Support Department resolves the issue. For details, please refer to SynapseOS System IFU that is supplied with this system.
To continue using the system without resolving the issue, the user must explicitly select a check box to confirm that he is aware of the risks taken when using the system in such conditions.

Running Antivirus Scans Without Restricting System Performance
To prevent performance slowdowns, the system doesn't start scheduled scans while a study is in progress. If a study is started while a scan is in progress, the scan is automatically stopped.
When exiting from the SynapseOS System application, select the “Scan & Shut Down” exit option to exploit the pre-shutdown time for a virus scan.
Connected USB storage devices are scanned only when files are being accessed. When a file with a virus that cannot be removed is detected, a message appears, notifying you that the file cannot be accessed. The antivirus application blocks access to the infected file to protect the operating system.
Actions Taken by the Antivirus Application Upon Detecting a Virus
If the antivirus application detects a virus during a scan, it automatically attempts to remove the virus and repair the infected file without prompting you for action.
However, if the antivirus application detects a virus that it cannot remove, the SynapseOS System's opening screen will display a message recommending you don't use the system until the NeuraX Service and Support Department resolves the issue.
For more details, please refer to the SynapseOS System IFU that is included with this system.
If you want to continue using the system without resolving the issue, you must explicitly select a check box to confirm that you are aware of the risks involved in continuing to use the system under such circumstances.
